Nazir 6:6-7

Nazir 6:6

If a nazir is rendered ritually unclean, he must shave and bring a sacrifice as follows: He sprinkles the purification waters on the third and seventh days and brings his sacrifices on the eighth day. If he shaved on the eighth day, Rabbi Akiva says he brings his sacrifice the same day. Rabbi Tarfon asked how a nazir differs from a metzora (since if a metzora shaves on the eighth day, he brings his sacrifices on the ninth day). Rabbi Akiva replied that a nazir’s purification depends on his days (i.e., he is clean before shaving, so he can bring a sacrifice the same day as he shaves) but the purification of a metzora depends upon his shaving, with the result that he cannot bring his sacrifices until the next day.

Nazir 6:7

The shaving of a nazir who completes his term in cleanliness is as follows: he brings three animals, for a sin offering, burnt offering and peace offering, respectively. According to Rabbi Yehuda, he shaves after slaughtering the peace offering. Rabbi Elazar says he shaves after slaughtering the sin offering because the sin offering always comes first. If a nazir shaved after any one of the sacrifices, he has fulfilled his obligation.
